RIEOTS Methodology focuses on language (English) as a medium of communication - not for scholastic learning. However the accompanying Theme-based program can be customised to attain English proficiency that is required for IELTS/SAT/GMAT level.
Communication embraces a whole spectrum of functions.
Classroom activities maximise opportunities for learners to use English in a communicative way for meaningful activities.
Use of English as normal medium for classroom management and instruction - reflects naturalistic language acquisition.
Communicative approach is much more learner-oriented, because it is dictated by learners' needs and interests.
Accent is on functional/usable language.
Classroom should provide opportunities for rehearsal of real-life situations and provide opportunity for real communication.
More emphasis on active modes of learning, including pair-work and group-work, often not exploited enough in traditional classrooms!
Primacy of oral work.
Errors are a natural part of learning language.
Communicative approach is not just limited to oral skills. RIEOTS programs build Superior Grammar, Usage, Vocabulary etc while building Spoken English proficiency.
Grammar is taught on contextual basis - less systematically.
RIEOTS Methodology believes that language analysis and grammar explanation may help some learners, but extensive experience of using English helps everyone.
RIEOTS Methodology seeks to personalise and localise language and adapt it to interest of learners.
RIEOTS Methodology encourages the use of idiomatic/everyday language.
Make use of topical items with which learners are already familiar in their own language.
We use contemporary and proprietary learning material - not age-old text books.
